When starting a new brand you need to think about absolutely everything. In today's age, the fashion industry is the second largest polluter in the world. So when starting a new brand you have to be aware of how you can be sustainable. With a main investor who requires that you be sustainable, you have to do your research. Sustainability is the ability to create a better planet for people, animals, and the environment. With that being said fashion brands are beginning to use better resources to create their clothing while working smarter when it comes to mass production. If I were to open my own brand I would choose Paris to be the home of my brand. Paris is the crème de la crème of not only fashion but couture fashion. The Brands name would be Chic Geek, why because I geek over high fashion clothing, and what girl doesn't want to look chic. Many big household names in Paris are only beginning to understand and develop their brand in becoming more sustainable. In Paris brands such as Veja, asap, Centre Commercial, and more are becoming the foundation of sustainable fashion brands in Paris. It’s time to bring sustainability to the masses of Paris. When opening my own brand, I want to include those who are committed to help ensure that fashion is moving towards sustainable fashion. Currently the brands being held in the store will be:
The brands that I picked are eco-friendly, helping to try and reduce waste. At the same time the brand's labor work is super important and these brands follow a Code of Conduct. Brands presented in the store don't use fabrics such as angora, fur, and more. As brands continue to adapt and become more sustainable the more likely those brands will be added to the store.
A very important aspect to every brand is the customers experience, you want to provide the best experience while also debuting the Brands DNA to the consumer. For customers you want to be able to give them the absolute best experience possible when from the time they enter the doors of your store to the time they leave. When a customer enters my doors they will have the best experience possible. With all their needs being catered too. Every employee will know what they're talking about, and be able to respond to one's needs in a timely manner. Most of the customers will get to know who they're interacting with and vice versa. What would my eco-friendly store consist of?
By using items such as LED lighting, reusable sustainable wood, and antique furniture, a store is helping to contribute to a more eco-friendly environment. It helps to connect to the brands sustainable identity by merging not only sustainable fashion, but where you are buying it. Just because you find antique furniture doesn't mean that a store can't look high fashion. Sustainable wood means that you're contributing to the environment by using furniture from managed forests. LED lighting uses much less energy than your average light bulb and even lasts longer. The Brand will be hundred percent committed to being sustainable throughout their use of materials in stores, for accessories, shoes, and fashion.
Every Brand needs an ambassador, one who will work well with the Brand's team, and believes in the Brands Identity. At the same time the ambassador needs to be inspiring, relatable, and genuine. For a Brand that's DNA represents inclusivity, diversity, confidence Zendaya is the absolute perfect fit. Zendaya is an actress, singer, fashion mogul, and activist. She not only uses her platform to discuss new projects she's working on or what she's up to, but also discusses important issues to help advocate for change. That is why she is the perfect person to be the face of the Brand.
Zendaya understands fashion; she has even teamed up with Tommy Hilfiger to create her own line of clothing, she is aware of the work it takes to create a collection. On social media Zendaya has a wide influence with almost 74 million followers on Instagram and 17 million on Twitter. Her voice has an influence over millions. She is unafraid to speak up for what matters even when curating her own fashion show. She made sure that there were women of all shapes and skin colors. Zendaya wants all women to feel confident in their own skin, she is an advocate for it, she represents the DNA of the brand, by believing in all the same things. Zendaya represents the future of fashion.
With a Brand that is fully committed to help create sustainable fashion for the industry and a Brand Ambassador that is committed to change, together both will carve a new road for the Fashion Industry.
